Personal Injuries – An update December 2017

This one-hour lecture covers the latest developments in Personal Injuries Law. The lecture deals with problems created by parallel proceedings, credibility of witnesses, exaggerated claims and applications to PIAB.

Topics covered are:

  • Parallel proceedings in employment law and common law. Sligo v Culkin [2017] IECA 104
  • 26 of the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004. Platt v OBH Luxury Accommodation Ltd [2017] IECA 221
  • Application to PIAB without a medical report may be sufficient to stop time running. McFadden v Neuhold [2017] IEHC 240
  • Overview of practical effects of the Supreme Court Judgment in The Law Society of Ireland v MIBI [2017] IESC 31
